Nuno Gama, PhD Chemical Engineering, develops bio-based polymers and recycling methodologies. He is/was part of the management team for research projects and member of COST actions related: to plastics recovery; recovery strategies; circular economy; sustainable consumption and prevention of waste. Awarded as Young Scientist of the Year by the International Association of Advanced Materials, is part of the top 2% of authors globally in his subfield.

Sandra Magina is a chemist with a MSc in Materials Science and Engineering and a PhD in Chemical Engineering.

Her research is mostly focused on the valorisation of forest biomass, agricultural and agro-industrial residues and by-products within the biorefinery concept, as well as the development of new lignin-based materials for different applications.

She has also been involved in R&D projects in collaboration with several companies.

Marina is graduated and MSc in Chemical Engineering, and holds a PhD in sustainable Chemistry. Her scientific background is focused on the development of new renewable materials, such as polyesters, polyurethane foams, composites among others. Recently, her work has been oriented in the preparation of cellulose-based materials, namely tissue papers with improved mechanical strength, as well as paper-based materials with high barrier properties for food-packaging applications.
